Historical drilling
Basin Gulch historical drilling results, explained
Published by Lannister Mining Last updated November 2026
Historical drilling at Basin Gulch includes more than 320 holes, with highlight intercepts such as 1.8 g/t gold over 162 meters from surface.
Lannister Mining publishes these historical drill and trench highlights for its Basin Gulch Property in Montana. This page lists them exactly as published, explains what grams per tonne and interval length mean, and sets out why historical results need confirmation drilling before they can support a Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.
What did historical drilling find at Basin Gulch?
Historical drilling found gold mineralization over long intervals near surface, along with shorter high-grade zones. The longest highlight published by Lannister Mining is 0.66 g/t Au over 326 meters from surface; the highest grade is 156 g/t Au over 3 meters.
These are selected highlights, not property averages. They show the kinds of intercepts the confirmation drilling program will aim to verify and expand.
| Gold grade | Interval (meters) | Interval (feet) | Starts from surface |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.8 g/t Au | 162 m | 531.5 ft | Yes |
| 0.66 g/t Au | 326 m | 1,069.6 ft | Yes |
| 3.2 g/t Au | 72 m | 236.2 ft | Yes |
| 156 g/t Au | 3 m | 9.8 ft | Not stated |
| 25 g/t Au | 14 m | 45.9 ft | Not stated |
| Gold grade | Silver grade | Interval (meters) | Interval (feet) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 62 g/t Au | 32 g/t Ag | 159 m | 521.7 ft |
| 4 g/t Au | 23 g/t Ag | 146 m | 479 ft |
| 5 g/t Au | 54 g/t Ag | 34 m | 111.6 ft |
| 25 g/t Au | 45 g/t Ag | 61 m | 200.1 ft |

How to read a drill result
A drill result has two parts: grade and length. Grade, written as g/t, is grams of metal per metric tonne of rock; one gram per tonne equals one part per million. Length is how far along the hole that grade was measured.
So 1.8 g/t Au over 162 meters means the hole averaged 1.8 grams of gold per tonne across 162 meters, or 531.5 feet. In general, long intervals of moderate grade describe broad mineralized zones, while short high-grade hits, such as 156 g/t Au over 3 meters, describe richer pockets within them.
Why historical results need confirmation
Historical drill holes were completed before Lannister Mining's programs, often with different methods and record keeping than modern standards require. Before they can support a resource estimate under S-K 1300 or NI 43-101, a qualified person must review them, and new holes are commonly drilled to confirm them.
That is exactly the plan at Basin Gulch: expansion and confirmation drilling of historical drill intercepts, followed by a future Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.
Why do near-surface intercepts matter?
Three of the five highlight intercepts start from surface. Mineralization that begins at surface means there is no barren cover to remove, which Lannister Mining links to significant implied mine design optimization flexibility.
Combined with oxide-hosted mineralization, near-surface results are a large part of why the company describes Basin Gulch as a high grade, near-surface gold and silver opportunity.

Common questions
Short answers from the full gold exploration FAQ.
How many drill holes have been completed at Basin Gulch?
More than 320 historical drill holes have been completed at Basin Gulch, according to Lannister Mining. Historical holes are those drilled before the current company began its programs. They provide valuable information, but they generally need confirmation drilling before they can support a modern mineral resource estimate.
What are the best historical drill results at Basin Gulch?
Highlight historical intercepts published by Lannister Mining include 1.8 g/t Au over 162 meters from surface, 0.66 g/t Au over 326 meters from surface, 3.2 g/t Au over 72 meters from surface, 156 g/t Au over 3 meters, and 25 g/t Au over 14 meters. These are selected highlights, not averages for the property.
What does g/t mean in gold drill results?
g/t means grams per tonne, the number of grams of metal in one metric tonne of rock. One gram per tonne equals one part per million. A result like 1.8 g/t Au over 162 meters means that drill interval averaged 1.8 grams of gold per tonne across 162 meters of the hole.
Why does 'from surface' matter in a drill result?
An intercept that starts from surface means mineralization begins at the top of the hole, with no barren rock above it to remove. Near-surface mineralization can give flexibility in any future mine design. Three of the Basin Gulch highlight intercepts published by Lannister Mining start from surface, including 0.66 g/t Au over 326 meters.
What are the trench results at Basin Gulch?
Trench highlights published by Lannister Mining include 62 g/t Au and 32 g/t Ag over 159 meters, 4 g/t Au and 23 g/t Ag over 146 meters, 5 g/t Au and 54 g/t Ag over 34 meters, and 25 g/t Au and 45 g/t Ag over 61 meters. Trenches expose bedrock so it can be mapped and sampled continuously.
Can historical drill results be relied on?
Historical drill results are useful for targeting, but they usually need verification before supporting a modern resource. A qualified person reviews records, sampling methods, and assays, and new holes are often drilled to confirm older intercepts. Lannister Mining plans confirmation and expansion drilling of historical intercepts at Basin Gulch.
